Newert Launches Wearable Biosignal Measurement Equipment and Software for R&D, Including Raw Data Access

2 min read

Few companies in Korea specialize in developing and supplying solutions for research and development in the biosignal field. On top of that, the equipment on the market has tended to restrict the user's movement with wired sensors or to provide only limited data, making applied research, development, and business expansion difficult.

Addressing those problems, Newert (CEO Lee Jung-nyeon) announced on the 16th that it has launched EmoConnect PPG&Motion, a wireless wearable biosignal measurement device supplied together with the raw data it collects and an SDK for commercialization.

Independently developed by Newert, 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion' is a smart-band wearable for research and development that measures composite biosignals including PPG, HR, and HRV. It applies smart noise filtering technology, developed in-house by Newert, to counter the drop in measurement accuracy caused by user movement during biosignal measurement.

To support applied research and technology development based on biosignal equipment, the device not only provides the raw data measured and an SDK, but also links with Newert's cloud-based biosignal data platform service (Biosignal-datahub) for efficient data storage and management.

Newert CEO Lee Jung-nyeon said, "EmoConnect PPG&Motion supports an unconstrained collection environment based on integrated sensors, and provides software and SDK technical support across operating systems including AOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux," adding, "By providing the full-cycle process from biosignal data measurement through management and analysis, we aim to become Korea's No.1 biosignal specialist."

Further details on EmoConnect PPG&Motion are available on the Newert website.

Newert Achieves Its First Export of EmoConnect PPG&Motion to China

Newert has achieved its first export to the Chinese market with EmoConnect PPG&Motion, the biosignal measurement device for research and development that the company designed in-house. The export was made under a contract with the Chinese corporation "HEBEI KANGHU INTELLIGENT SENSING TECHNOLOGY," marking an important milestone in Newert's move into global markets. Starting with China, the company is sequentially preparing the international certifications required to enter the United States, Europe, and other regions.

Newert, Supplier of Biosignal Raw Data and SDKs, Sells Out Its Initial Run of 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion'

Newert, which supplies solutions for research and development in the biosignal field, announced on the 8th that the initial production run of 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion' — the wristband-type biosignal measurement device it recently released — has sold out. A Newert representative said that while biosignal measurement devices on the market often provide raw data and SDKs only in limited form, or not at all, 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion' removes those constraints and has drawn strong interest from researchers and developers.

Newert Launches a Cloud-Based Biosignal Data Platform Service

Newert (CEO Lee Jung-nyeon), a biosignal specialist providing full-cycle solutions for measuring and analyzing biosignals in everyday life, announced on the 15th that it is launching its cloud-based biosignal data platform service (biosignal-datahub) this month. In research settings today, experiment management and data handling differ from researcher to researcher, and continuity of data management breaks down when the person responsible graduates or moves on. Built on Newert's data standardization system, the platform collects and manages a range of biosignal data including EEG, ECG, PPG, and GSR, and supports its analysis and use.
