Newert Launches the 'VitalTrack–PPG&Motion' Board for Biosignal-Based Research and Education

2 min read

[BioTimes] Newert, a biosignal specialist providing full-cycle solutions for measuring and analyzing biosignals in everyday life, announced that it is launching the 'VitalTrack–PPG&Motion' board this month for biosignal-based research and education.

The VitalTrack-PPG&Motion board is a biosignal measurement device equipped with a PPG (pulse wave) sensor and a 9-axis inertial (IMU) sensor to analyze the wearer's heart rate and movement. Over a Bluetooth-based wireless connection, it leaves the wearer as free to move as possible while collecting raw data across a total of 10 channels (PPG & IMU 9-axis) at 50Hz in real time.

The board supports applied research and development using biosignals across fields such as home healthcare, remote medicine, and affective engineering, offering researchers and developers an optimal solution.

Newert CEO Lee Jung-nyeon said, "To support research and development environments across a range of operating system platforms, we will expand the SDK so that development is possible in every environment — starting with Android and later covering iOS, Windows, and Linux," adding, "We expect the launch of the VitalTrack-PPG&Motion board to open a new chapter for biosignal-based research and development."

Newert currently provides the user manual and SDK/software free of charge on its website so that researchers and developers who purchase the board can collect data easily.

Newert Achieves Its First Export of EmoConnect PPG&Motion to China

Newert has achieved its first export to the Chinese market with EmoConnect PPG&Motion, the biosignal measurement device for research and development that the company designed in-house. The export was made under a contract with the Chinese corporation "HEBEI KANGHU INTELLIGENT SENSING TECHNOLOGY," marking an important milestone in Newert's move into global markets. Starting with China, the company is sequentially preparing the international certifications required to enter the United States, Europe, and other regions.

Newert, Supplier of Biosignal Raw Data and SDKs, Sells Out Its Initial Run of 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion'

Newert, which supplies solutions for research and development in the biosignal field, announced on the 8th that the initial production run of 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion' — the wristband-type biosignal measurement device it recently released — has sold out. A Newert representative said that while biosignal measurement devices on the market often provide raw data and SDKs only in limited form, or not at all, 'EmoConnect PPG&Motion' removes those constraints and has drawn strong interest from researchers and developers.

Newert Launches Wearable Biosignal Measurement Equipment and Software for R&D, Including Raw Data Access

Few companies in Korea develop and supply solutions for research and development in the biosignal field. Equipment on the market has also tended to restrict movement with wired sensors or to limit the data it provides, making applied R&D and business expansion difficult. Newert (CEO Lee Jung-nyeon) announced on the 16th that it has launched EmoConnect PPG&Motion, a wireless wearable biosignal measurement device supplied together with the raw data it collects and an SDK for commercialization.
